I don't see any advantage, as the coil resistance in a coil used for
a seismic sensor is of little significance. The resistance may be fairly
high due to the thin wire and large number of turns of the coil, but
it's easy enough to make high-impedance circuitry to measure signal
voltage without loading down the coil.
