Hi Jon,
I would use a mastic adhesive called BluTack or WhiteTack. It is a
putty like adhesive material which never sets hard. I buy it from stationery and
hardware suppliers.
An alternative method would be to drill holes on the floor and fit
rawlbolts and a metal strap over the top of the seismometer case.
