The focal mech for this quake is primarily an extensional motion with a bit=
of
oblique motion rather than subduction

in Diag D you will see Fomec's relating to subduction and thrusting
That being said once upon a time, long, long ago, the western end of the
Mediterranian was subduction. most of that now is in the central "Med" Sea
area which continues to fuel Mt Etna and push the Swiss Apls a little=
higher.
