The "live" recording of a quake event seems to be more appealing to the =
laymen rather than looking at a PC screen. No offense towards the =
digital age, as I am a very happy customer with digitalism (PCs, SLRs, =
cell phones, and on and on...). But there is something more interesting =
about paper recorder systems over the alternate style.=20

Why would people want a paper recorder when digital is so much more =
reasonable in this day and age of technology ?
It would be better to teach people computer programming skills and let =
them use their imagination in how the data is to be presented using =
mathematics or whatever.

What would you call that size that is used to go onto the stylus?
I will send a photo showing the current pen and tubing setup. Are we =
allowed to email embedded images in a message or just a link?

George,
SmallParts.com has very small tubing. See
http://www.smallparts.com/tygon-r3603-laboratory-tubing-clear/dp/B003TJ9Y=
GK/ref=3Dsr_1_2?sr=3D1-2&qid=3D1312403828&filterBy.brandtextbin=3DTygon=20
(be sure to get full URL) they have down to 1/32" ID, so that should be =
good. SmallParts.com is a very good company.

Thanks Jack-
I have shrink tubing that is small enough (I use it on my HO model RR), =
and I have small wire with removable tubing-type of=20
insulation, some of it Teflon, but the problem is that it needs to be =
both small and very flexible, so I am still looking.
But thanks for your response- George

Not sure how well this will work for ink, but I have used small-diameter =
heat-shrink tubing that I have shrunk as tubing. PVC=20
probably wouldn't work so well but is cheap and available at Radio =
Shack. Other types would work better (polyolefin, Teflon).
You can also get wire sleeving in Teflon in various gauges.
