Right - take a look at the AlabamaQuake website (http://alabamaquake.com) w=
hile both the PNG M6.8 event, and an earlier M6.7 Chile event, are both sti=
ll still shown on the same heliplot display.=A0 Compare the surface wave am=
plitude=A0from the PNG event (208km focus depth, 123 deg. from Huntsville) =
and the Chile event (37 km focus depth, 68 deg from Huntsville). Even tho t=
he PNG event surface wave amplitude is less at Huntsville, the train of wav=
es did go on for some time.

Thats for sure Steve=A0 !!
=A0 and that with the net, information gets out there so quickly compared t=
o years
gone bye. Today's PNG event was in progress when I arrived home from work,
a few minutes past the S arrival. Even tho this even was quite deep just ov=
er
200km, there is quite a significant train of low freq waves that would norm=
ally be
called surface waves. But at 200k deep, I would hardly expect to see anythi=
ng
as significant=A0 ??
=A0 Any thoughts=A0 ?
