Also, what attenuation < You normally put a resistor in parallel (shunt) with the geophone. Actually, such a resistor is often installed in the geophone already. The attenuation depends on the resistance in the coil of the geophone. If this for example is 100 ohm, and you put a resistor of 100 ohm in as a shunt, you will reduce the voltage output of teh geophone with 50%....
