Please note that the equipment below is no longer in production

This photo show the 8 channel Motorola UT ONCORE GPS receiver (top board) and my interface board with battery backup supply and optional PC power Y-Cable. This cable can be used to pick up +12 VDC from your PC's power supply. An optional wall mounted power supply can also be used to power the receiver.
The manual for the ONCORE receiver (in PDF format) can be downloaded here (2.5 megabyte zip file).
Status: Please see note above
This photo shows my ONCORE Interface board and mounting hardware without the GPS receiver installed. The interface board has the following features:
- Interfaces with the Motorola ONCORE series of 8-Channel GPS Receivers
- Supplies regulated +5 VDC to the GPS receiver using a high efficiency switching power supply
- Large input voltage range of +7 to +40 VDC
- Buffered 1 Pulse per Second output
- Converts the serial data to and from the GPS receiver to standard RS-232 voltage levels
- Standard RS-232 9 pin connector mounted directly to the interface board
- 1 Pulse per Second output on the RS-232 DCD line
- 1 Pulse per Second status LED
- Battery backup input (+3 to +5vdc) to keep information in the receivers RAM during loss of main power

I have a Windows based program called WinPlotGPS that can be used to plot and display location information from the GPS receiver.
This GPS system will also work with CNS System's Tac32 and Motorola's WinONCORE GPS display programs.9 Pin Serial Connector Pinout:
Pin 1 - One pulse per second output. This is the DCD or Data Carrier Detect line.
Pin 2 - Serial Data Output
Pin 3 - Serial Data Input
Pin 4 - Not Connected
Pin 5 - Ground
Pin 6 - Not Connected
Pin 7 - Not Connected
Pin 8 - Not Connected
Pin 9 - Not Connected
Power Requirements:
The complete timing system, antenna, GPS receiver and interface board, requires ~ 185 milliamps at 8 VDC, 147 MA at 10VDC, 125 MA at 12 VDC or 100 MA at 15 VDC.
